I think children’s tv times should be monitored very closely by their parents or caregivers. Just recently my officemate told me about her daughter who slapped one of their helpers. She (my officemate) attributed it to her kid’s watching Bakekang. We really have to be careful about what our kids watch because often they end up watching what we watch, and the shows we watch aren’t most of the time good for kids.

I agree with the previous poster. TV viewing of children should be monitored by adults because most shows we have on tv now are very violent and has too much drama. Even cartoons are very violent.

Cartoons from years back have always been violent (Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Wile E. Cayote, etc etc — all these were done in the 50’s and 60’s, maybe even earlier). There’s not much difference, except now, kids have more choice, hundreds of choices of shows they can watch. Also, between then and now, children nowadays are very impressionable. They easily imitate what they see on TV, thinking that it’s the norm.
So, the word PARENTAL GUIDANCE is very applicable (and needed!) in today’s setting.

It is okay to let our kids watch Tv shows but supervision is highly recommended
I have a 2 yr old son who has PDD/Autism. As they say, special kids are visual learners, so I mae it a point to be there with him all the time. Very stressful, but I cannot let my son watch these violent tv shows and ads.
One time after his school, he began
hting us, so I suspect he sees other kids doing the same thing…and he was like imitating what he just saw from others.

Watching tv with supervision is a must. Also don’t let the children watch tv too much. it’s better if they have a schedule on what time they could watch.
