I have 3 kids. A 6 year old boy, a 4 year old boy, and a 2 year old girl. They all like different shows like my 6 year old likes watching the Mr. Bean cartoon. My 4 year old likes The Backyardigans but usually watches whatever his kuya watches. My baby girl seems to like Barney. But they all like to watch Lazy Town. When it’s on, they stop playing and watch. They jump and shout along with the characters. It’s really cute. Even my baby girl who doesn’t understand it yet laughs along with them.

My kids Zoe, 3 and Bo, 1 watch Dora the Explorer which I think is great for toddlers like my daughter. She’ve learned how to count easily, some Spanish words, colors and expressions like, ” oh men!” which i think is more acceptable than “oh my gosh/god!” They watch Backyardigans, Lazy Town, Franklin, Little Bear and Hi-5. I let them watch Spongebob Squarepants but I watch along with them. Just to make sure that if there’s a scene that’s a bit off of violent, I can explain and talk about it with them. Spongebob is cute but it’s humor is more for older kids not for toddlers and babies. My kids watch National Geographic too!

My 2 year old son loves to watch Dora the Explorer but he got confused on which langauge to speak (filipino, english, spanish) so we don’t let him watch the show anymore. As of now he loves the Disney Channel Playhouse shows especially Little Einteins, Higglytown Heroes, PB & J Otter and Clifford.

My 9 month old son still has a very short attention span at his age, and I think that he’s not so interested in TV shows yet. Whenever we sit infront of the TV, I switch to Nickelodeon shows and he’s interested (for at least a minute :D ) in watching the Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, Spongebob, Dora the Explorer, and any show that plays music. I hope they’d have reruns of the show Sesame Street because when I was still a kid I really loved that show :) .
